Pearl River Lions - Giving
Thanks and Serving Others
As the holidays approach we
find ourselves brimming with generosity and counting our blessings. The Pearl
River Lions are no exception. However, in addition to blessings, they'll be
counting frozen turkeys and raffle tickets..
This Saturday from 9-5 in front of ShopRite on Middletown Road in Pearl River
the Lions will be collecting canned goods and frozen turkeys to distribute to
local food pantries. Their goal is to extend the blessing of a quality
Thanksgiving meal to many who might not have one without their help.
Additionally, they're also running a 50/50 raffle to benefit a whole host of
organizations that support people with visual impairments. A portion of the
proceeds will also help fund the annual Christmas party they sponsor for the
residents of the local ARC.
"We're very excited about the 50/50 Raffle because it's a wonderful opportunity
to raise significant funds for some worthy causes," said Lions President
Christopher Zuccaro. "I am confident that it will be an enormous success as the
residents of Pearl River are extremely generous and will certainly jump at the
opportunity to aid those less fortunate."
Zuccaro also noted that this year looks to be the most profitable yet for the
Pearl River Lions as they have set high goals and have committed to attaining them. To
